The holiday season is upon us once again, though with the bars not quite open as usual, we wanted to share one of our all-time favourite cocktails with you to bring some holiday cheer to your home bar. This is of course the Espresso Martini - Kokebi style!
The origins of this classic, like many beverages, has more than one claim to fame. However, it is believed that the original creator was Dick Bradsell, a bartender from Bishops Stortford, considered the godfather of the London cocktail revival.
Paying homage to the creator himself, here is our very own spin on his original recipe. Enjoy!
You will need:
- Ice cubes
- 60 ml | 2 oz Vodka, we recommend Absolut Vodka.
- 30 ml | 1 oz Kokebi Espresso, we recommend Kokebi's Central blend.
- 15 ml | 0.5 oz Coffee Liqueur, such as Kahlua or Tia Maria.
- 7.5 ml | 0.25 oz Simple Syrup, we recommend Sweetbird Syrup.
- 6 Central Kokebi coffee beans
Instructions
- Chill two Martini Glasses.
- Add the ice, spirits and espresso into your cocktail shaker. Using warm espresso helps to create a creamy head on the cocktail.
- Shake vigorously for 30 seconds until well-chilled.
- Strain into the glasses swiftly from your shaker. This will help getting all that beautiful foam out and land on top of your drink.
- Garnish with the Kokebi Coffee beans.
- Serves two.
