Our Lavender latte is delicious, delicately floral and easy to make at home or your coffee shop.

Every season brings its own wonderful set of flavours, traditions, colour and indeed recipes to our tables, and Spring at Easter is one of our favourites.

Spring inspires fresh and natural flavours, zest and hope as nature is coming into full bloom, which has influenced our latest recipe the delicious Lavender Latte coffee.

Our Lavender Latte is perfect for making at home or serving to your customers, offering something of exemplary quality and freshness to your seasonal menu.

Here's what you will need to make it.

INGREDIENTS FOR YOUR SYRUP

¼ cup dried lavender

½ cup water

½ cup white sugar

* If you dont want to make your own, you can buy a quality lavender syrup at your local supermarket

INGREDIENTS FOR YOUR LATTE

½ cup whole milk

⅔ cup brewed Kokebi Coffee | We recommend: Organico | Central | Decaffeinated

2 Tablespoons of lavender syrup, to personal taste

SIMPLE LAVENDER SYRUP METHOD

• Place water and lavender in a saucepan and bring to the boil.

• Reduce the heat and simmer for no more than three minutes - less for a stronger flavour.

• Remove from heat and leave to cool.

• Once cooled, strain using a mesh strainer to remove the lavender.

• In a new saucepan combine your sugar with 2-3 tablespoons of the lavender water.

• Bring to the boil, then simmer and whisk occasionally for 4 minutes.

LAVENDAR LATTE METHOD

• Brew your Kokebi Coffee and pour into a latte glass or mug if you prefer.

• Pour in your simple syrup to taste and stir.

• Warm your milk and froth - Use our milk frothing technique on our blog if at home.

• Pour on your freshly frothed milk and sprinkle with dried lavender to decorate!

We hope you enjoy lavender latte as much as we did! Why not share this story below with a coffee lover or your friends to enjoy.

Beans stay fresher for longer, and so your coffee should taste better, too. As soon as green coffee beans are roasted, they start to release CO2, which affects the taste. They will oxidise and slowly start to go 'stale' and have a flat taste after a while. When coffee is ground, there is a higher surface area which is exposed to oxygen and that will cause them to lose their freshness faster, so it's best to keep coffee beans whole as close to brewing as possible. Treat your coffee beans similarly to potatoes: store them in a dark, dry place. It's best they are kept in a container or the bag they come in to stop oxygen and moisture getting in.
